The Astraea Snail is a striking pyramid-shelled herbivore with olive-green coloration that actively consumes hair algae, cyanobacteria, and diatoms. This efficient algae-eater cleans live rock and aquarium glass, making it invaluable for maintaining a healthy reef environment. Best suited for established tanks with ample hiding spaces, it requires careful acclimation and sensitivity to water parameters. Avoid copper-based treatments and monitor daily, as it cannot right itself if overturned. Supplement with vegetable matter if algae levels are insufficient.
