The Mint Pavona is an SPS coral with distinctive chip-like fronds in tan to green tones. It requires moderate to high light and steady flow to prevent debris accumulation. Moderately demanding to care for, it grows in plating or branching forms, adding structural interest to reef tanks. Maintain stable water parameters with calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels appropriate for SPS corals. Position it in moderate to high light zones—LED or T5 lighting works well—and ensure strong, steady water flow to keep the fronds clear of debris and promote nutrient delivery. Perform regular water changes to maintain water quality, and consider target feeding with small food particles during feeding times. Avoid sudden changes in lighting or flow, as this SPS coral is sensitive to environmental shifts. Monitor for signs of stress such as polyp recession, and adjust placement if needed. With consistent care and stable conditions, your Chip Coral will thrive and develop beautiful growth patterns.
