The Electric Flame Scallop displays a striking bright red mantle with electric-like surges visible across its surface, even in dim lighting. This filter feeder requires a mature reef aquarium with stable calcium levels, proper alkalinity, and individual feeding of micro-plankton and phytoplankton via pipette. It tolerates peaceful tank mates and can be kept in groups. Avoid nitrates and copper-based treatments. Best suited for experienced reef keepers committed to regular supplemental feeding.
