Long Tentacle Anemone

The Long Tentacle Anemone, also known as the Corkscrew, Sand, Red Base, or Long Tentacle Red Base Anemone, closely resembles Heteractis crispa but features fewer tentacles and a softer column. Its oral disc can reach up to 20" across and is usually visible, with tentacles more widely spaced than similar species. This anemone exhibits various color forms, typically with an orange to red base. It commonly hosts clownfish species such as Amphiprion perideraion and A. clarki. For optimal care, it requires at least 4 inches of sand or rubble substrate to burrow into and thrives on a diet of small fish pieces, mussels, crustaceans, and frozen foods.
