This hardy fish feeds on benthic algae and reaches approximately 3.9 inches at maturity, making it suitable for established reef systems. Known for fascinating breeding behavior, One Spot Damselfish are egg layers that prepare nesting sites and perform elaborate mating dances featuring rapid swimming and fin displays. Males often deepen in color and may show white blotches during spawning, which occurs at dawn. Like many reef fish, juveniles undergo notable color and shape changes as they mature into adults.
