Red Blastomussa

The Red Blastomussa is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral featuring distinctive swollen polyps that resemble mushroom anemones. This moderately hardy species thrives in established reef tanks with low to moderate water flow and moderate lighting. It displays vibrant red coloration, sometimes with blue, brown, or green hues. Peaceful by nature, it won't encroach on nearby tank mates. Supplement with calcium, strontium, and trace elements to support growth. The coral sustains itself primarily through photosynthesis via symbiotic zooxanthellae, though it will opportunistically feed on micro-plankton.
